Largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and population in Malaysia is UiTM that is stand for Universiti Teknologi Mara. It has experienced a remarkable growth since its establishments in 1956 and now it is still growing. UiTM has expanded nationwide with 12 branch campuses, 3 satellites campuses, 9 city campuses and 21 affiliated colleges. With a wide range of network and a workforce of 17, 000 the university offers more than 300 academic programmes such as Human Resources ,Finance ,Accounting ,Insurance ,Mass Communications in a conducive and enthusiastic environment. It is also home or safe place to some 172, 000 students. The University is committed to help bumiputera students to achieve the highest scholarly level and to prepare themselves for careers in public and professional practice in various fields. Its formation is based on a vision of outstanding scholarship and academic excellence that is capable of providing leadership in various arenas. Although it is still immature compared to other universities that has been established in this country, UiTM has earned a reputation as one of the innovative and entrepreneurial universities in Malaysia, as it has develop relationships with many industrial sectors. Therefore, the relationships with the industry research and innovation as well as enriched the culture of entrepreneurship. Today, UiTM drew strength from the founder of the initiative, explore and border control of knowledge as they work towards achieving a higher and more celebrating achievements at home and abroad. The ultimate is to put UiTM on the world map.

Motto, Vision and Mission of UiTM is “Endeavour, Religious, Dignified” while its vision is to establish UiTM as a premier university of outstanding scholarship and academic excellence capable of providing leadership to Bumiputeras’s dynamic involvement in all professional fields of world-class standards in order to produce globally competitive graduates of sound ethical standing. UiTM’s mission is to enhance the knowledge and expertise of Bumiputeras in all fields of study through professional programmes, research work and community service based on moral values and professional ethics by stand with philosophy of every individual has the ability to attain excellence through the transfer of knowledge and assimilation of moral values so as to become professional graduates capable of developing knowledge, self, society and nation. The objectives of establish UiTM is because to provide maximum opportunities for bumiputeras to pursue professionally-recognised programmes of study in science, technology, industry, business, arts and humanities. Then, to provide quality and innovative programmes of study relevant to current market needs and customer demands, and in line with policies of national development. After that, to establish a human resource development programme as a tool for the assimilation of a value system within the university community. It is also to ensure that UiTM graduates are adequately prepared to join the local as well as the global workforce. Last but not least, to establish UiTM as a centre of excellence that is accountable for the effective and efficient management of its human resources, finances and assets in order to achieve its educational objectives, while playing its role as a catalyst in community development.

The logo of UiTM incorporates four main colours which is dark blue that shows the maturity of an institute of higher learning, which offers different levels of study. Purple symbolises excellence in global knowledge. Yellow represents the sovereignty of the Malay kings and the struggle of the Malays in an effort to take the national education towards excellence. While white shows the sacred and pure knowledge offered to the students.
